At Dose Cacao, we take care when packing and sending your order so it arrives as safely as possible.
This Shipping Policy explains how we process, dispatch and deliver orders placed through our website.
Where we ship
We currently ship within Australia.
At this stage, we do not offer standard international shipping through our website. If you are located outside Australia and would like to enquire about a bespoke international order, please contact us at hello@dosecacao.com.au. We may be able to provide a custom shipping quote depending on your location, order size, product availability and any applicable customs or import requirements.
Order processing times
We aim to process and pack orders within 1-3 business days after your order is placed.
During busy periods, product launches, public holidays or promotional periods, processing times may be slightly longer.
You will receive a confirmation email after placing your order and a shipping notification once your order has been dispatched.
Dispatch days
Because Dose Cacao products may be sensitive to heat, we generally aim to dispatch orders from Monday to Wednesday.
This helps reduce the chance of parcels sitting in transit, depots, mail centres, parcel lockers or delivery vehicles over the weekend.
Where appropriate, we may delay dispatch due to extreme heat, public holidays, courier delays or other conditions that may affect the quality of your order.
Delivery timeframes
Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Actual delivery times may vary depending on your location, the delivery provider, public holidays, peak periods, weather, courier delays or other events outside our control.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will usually receive tracking details so you can monitor delivery progress.
Shipping costs
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout before you complete your order.
From time to time, we may offer free shipping, flat-rate shipping or promotional shipping offers. Any such offers may be subject to conditions such as minimum spend, location or promotional periods.
Incorrect delivery details
Please ensure your shipping details are correct before placing your order.
We are not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, returned parcels or lost orders caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information provided at checkout.
If an order is returned to us due to incorrect details, failed delivery or failure to collect, we may require you to pay additional shipping costs before the order is resent.
Authority to leave and parcel collection
If your parcel is left unattended, placed in a mailbox, left at a doorstep, delivered to a parcel locker or taken to a collection point, you are responsible for collecting it promptly.
Dose Cacao products should not be left in hot cars, mailboxes, parcel lockers, direct sunlight, warm rooms or other heated environments.
We are not responsible for heat damage, melting, bloom, texture changes or quality issues caused by delayed collection, incorrect storage or exposure to unsuitable conditions after delivery.
Heat-sensitive products and cacao bloom
Dose Cacao products are made with cacao, which is naturally sensitive to temperature, humidity, handling, transport and storage conditions.
Cacao products may naturally develop bloom, including light marks, streaks, dullness, white or greyish coating, surface spotting, texture changes, softening or changes in snap and finish.
Bloom is generally a cosmetic or texture-related change and does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe, faulty or unsuitable for consumption.
We take reasonable care when preparing, packing and dispatching orders. However, once an order is in transit, we cannot control courier handling, delivery vehicles, depots, mailboxes, parcel lockers, doorsteps, weather conditions or how quickly an order is collected after delivery.
We do not guarantee that products will arrive without bloom, softening, marking or other heat-related cosmetic changes.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Lost, delayed or damaged parcels
If your parcel is delayed, lost or arrives damaged, please contact us at:
Please include:
- your order number;
- your full name;
- tracking details, if available;
- a brief description of the issue;
- clear photos of the product and packaging, if relevant.
We will review the issue and, where appropriate, work with the delivery provider to investigate.
If your product is faulty, unsafe, not as described, incorrectly supplied, or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Storage after delivery
Once delivered, please store your Dose Cacao products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, moisture and strong odours.
Do not leave products in a car, mailbox, parcel locker, direct sunlight or warm environment.
